Imperial Centre for Interventional Psychiatry and Psychedelic Research (Imperial CIPPRes)
About
The Imperial Centre for Interventional Psychiatry and Psychedelic Research, known as Imperial CIPPRes, is a pioneering multidisciplinary research centre within Imperial College London’s Department of Brain Sciences.
Building on more than a decade of psychedelic research at Imperial, the Centre investigates the use of psychedelics and other novel interventions in mental healthcare, while also using these compounds to explore the brain and the basis of consciousness.
Its work spans experimental psychopharmacology, clinical trials, neuroscience and advanced brain imaging, including PET, MRI and EEG. Research areas include depression, anorexia nervosa, obsessive-compulsive disorder, chronic pain, opioid use disorder and gambling disorder.
CIPPRes connects academic research at Imperial’s Hammersmith Hospital Campus with the NHS-based CIPPRes Clinic at St Charles Hospital, the NHS CIPPRes Consortium and the CIPPRes Conference. Together, these activities support the translation of innovative psychiatric research into clinical practice, professional education and future mental healthcare.
The multidisciplinary community includes researchers, clinicians, therapists, research students, trial professionals and operational staff working to advance rigorous, evidence-based psychedelic science.
