The Role
We are looking for a Clinical Research Physician to join our experienced clinical research team and support the delivery of high-quality Phase 1, 2 and 3 clinical trials.
Working alongside Principal Investigators, Lead Clinicians and wider clinical research teams, you will provide medical oversight and care to clinical trial participants, ensuring studies are delivered safely, ethically and to the highest medical and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Fulfil the role of Investigator and, where delegated, Principal Investigator.
Provide medical care, clinical oversight and support to clinical trial participants.
Ensure all trial-related procedures are conducted in accordance with study protocols, ICH-GCP and applicable legislation, regulations and guidelines.
Review medical records and assess potential participants against study inclusion and exclusion criteria.
Participate actively in study visits, including informed consent, physical examinations and other clinical procedures.
Review medical reports, laboratory results and other relevant clinical data.
Identify, report and appropriately manage adverse events, serious adverse events protocol deviations as appropriate.
Support the medical wellbeing of participants throughout clinical trials, including referral to primary or secondary care where appropriate.
Support participant recruitment activities, including pre-screening and building relationships with patient groups and clinicians.
Work collaboratively with Principal Investigators, Lead Clinicians, Site Managers, research staff and other colleagues to ensure safe and effective study delivery.
Attend Site Initiation Visits, pre-selection visits, investigator meetings and other study-related meetings as required.
What You'll Need
Requirements
Full and current GMC registration.
Experience in a range of acute medical specialties, including experience managing patients on an unselected medical take during core medical training or equivalent.
Strong commitment to participant safety, ethical conduct and the highest standards of professionalism.
Ability to communicate complex concepts relating to mental health, neuroscience and clinical trials to a range of audiences.
Desirable
Minimum 2 years pharma/ clinical trials experience.
Experience in neurology, psychiatry or another specialty relevant to mental health and CNS research.
Experience acting as a medical monitor, subject matter expert or investigator in clinical research.
Experience supporting participant recruitment and engagement activities.
You will play an important role throughout the clinical trial process, from participant screening and informed consent through to ongoing medical assessment, safety oversight and follow-up.
