Media & Communications Advisor
About This Role
📋 Role Overview:
We are working alongside a Psychedelic start-up looking to strengthen their media team with expertise in content strategy, external communications, and ecosystem partnerships. The advisory role sits at the intersection of content production-distribution and communication with partners across various channels.
📌 Role Technical Details:
● Role: Media & Communications Advisor;
● Format / location: fully remote, remote team (Europe-first);
● Reporting to: CEO/Founding team.
📄 Role Responsibilities:
1. Building brand awareness and strengthening the company’s external communications & relationships (media relations, reputation management, strategic partnerships, joint projects).
2. Create a strategy for working with experts to achieve cross-channel content creation across multiple formats per expert; collaborate with the team to execute. Lead communications and accountability for these collaborations, inc.: format development, terms negotiation, execution oversight.
3. Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, opinion leaders, and industry communities.
4. Plan and manage special projects: interviews, podcasts, events, and speaker engagements.
5. Establish communications with authors, experts, researchers, and practitioners for the media project, podcast, Substack, and other media resources.
6. Deliver PR articles and content; distribute press releases, statements, expert articles, and secure publications in trade and mainstream media.
7. Scale SEO and organic distribution across social, Reddit, Substack, webinars, and podcasts; build repeatable content systems and workflows.
What You'll Need
⭐ Ideal Profile:
● Deeply connected to the psychedelics ecosystem - relationships with practitioners, researchers, journalists, therapists, and media figures in the space.
● Background in PR, communications, and/or content distribution; track record placing content in notable trade and mainstream publications.
● Highly execution-oriented; comfortable as a public-facing advisor and owning deliverables independently within a remote, async team.
● Experienced in managing barter-style and collaborative partnerships across media, nonprofit, and professional communities.
● Fluent in AI-native content production and distribution tools; proactively uses automation to build scalable content systems.
