Senior Pharmacy Technician

You will support the timely delivery of Phase 1, 2 and 3 clinical trials to appropriate medical and regulatory standards, working closely with Clerkenwell Health’s clinical and pharmacy teams.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate the delivery of an efficient and effective pharmacy service for clinical trial participants.

• Ensure pharmacy staff receive trial-specific training in accordance with Good Clinical Practice.

• Dispense, or check where appropriate, clinical trial Investigational Medicinal Products.

• Maintain accurate IMP accountability records.

• Manage temperature monitoring for IMPs stored within the pharmacy and other relevant areas.

• Support the Lead Clinical Trials Pharmacist in streamlining pharmacy services across Clerkenwell Health.

• Help ensure compliance with the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations, the EU Clinical Trials Directive and subsequent amendments.

• Maintain essential pharmacy trial documentation in accordance with study protocols and local guidelines.

• Provide GCP training.

• Attend Site Initiation Visits and facilitate Monitoring Visits.

• Act as the pharmacy representative and point of contact for clinical trial enquiries.

• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills, completed before 2022, or equivalent; or

• BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians, completed from 2022 onwards.

• Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

• Evidence of mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practise.
