Senior Podcast Showrunner/Producer
About This Role
About Pink Elephant
Pink Elephant is a venture builder and investment company developing an ecosystem of progressive mental health solutions. Its portfolio spans media, diagnostics, e-commerce, telemedicine and technology, with a focus on preparing the infrastructure needed for continued innovation in mental health and psychedelics.
States of Mind is Pink Elephant’s video-first media platform exploring mental health and psychedelics. It currently produces two shows:
Human Journeys, which shares personal and lived-experience stories.
Process in Progress, which documents the clinicians, facilitators, researchers and regulators shaping the emerging industry.
Both shows aim to present difficult and ambiguous experiences alongside evidence of progress and success.
The role
Pink Elephant is seeking a Senior Podcast Showrunner/Producer to take end-to-end responsibility for Process in Progress and grow its audience.
You will decide what gets produced, lead recordings, develop guests and episode concepts, brief Pink Elephant’s external editing agency and use audience data to continually improve the show.
The position will initially focus on one show but is designed to develop across the wider media portfolio. You will help establish production and packaging standards for Pink Elephant’s current and future shows.
Key responsibilities
Audience growth and performance
Take ownership of audience growth and engagement across Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube and relevant social platforms.
Work towards agreed minimum, target and stretch performance goals.
Identify the platforms and formats where the audience is growing most effectively.
Monitor follower and subscriber conversion across each episode.
Adjust the show’s approach when content falls below agreed performance levels.
Pre-production and recording
Research prospective guests and prepare detailed guest dossiers.
Develop episode scripts, narrative arcs and key questions.
Plan potential short-form clips and standout moments before recording.
Prepare clear briefs for guests and co-hosts.
Lead each recording and ensure that strong, shareable moments are captured.
Content development and optimisation
Create a packaging hypothesis for every episode, covering the title, thumbnail, opening section and overall structure.
Review what worked and apply the findings to future episodes.
Use clips as a central audience-acquisition channel.
Analyse retention, watch-through and initial performance data.
Stop or adapt formats that repeatedly fail to produce results.
Guests and partnerships
Maintain a pipeline of at least eight confirmed guests.
Secure a mixture of widely recognised contributors and respected industry specialists.
Regularly feature representatives from clinics, associations, research institutions and regulatory organisations.
Develop cross-promotional opportunities with other shows and platforms.
Record contacts, conversations and next steps in the shared partnership tracker.
Distribution
Provide the distribution team with clips, quotations, talking points and platform-specific titles at least two days before an episode’s release.
Work collaboratively to ensure every episode launches with a complete distribution package.
Production standards
Work with the Head of Media to develop a consistent production and content-packaging playbook across Pink Elephant’s media portfolio.
What You'll Need
Pink Elephant is looking for someone who can demonstrate:
A recurring show they have successfully grown, supported by audience figures and an explanation of the changes they introduced.
At least three years’ experience producing recurring talk, interview or documentary formats.
Experience creating content across multiple platforms, including social video.
Strong knowledge of content packaging, click-through rates, retention data and clips as an audience-acquisition tool.
Confidence using YouTube, Spotify and Apple analytics.
Experience briefing external editors and approving or rejecting completed edits.
Systematic use of AI throughout the production process, including research, clip selection and performance analysis.
Experience within health, science, medicine or finance would be advantageous, as would experience launching a show from the beginning.
A psychedelics background is not required. Pink Elephant is looking for genuine curiosity and respect for the subject. Medical and technical content will be supported by hosts, co-hosts and the editorial team.
Video editing and motion-design skills are also not required, as editing is handled by an external agency.
What You'll Get
Remote position within UK or European time zones.
US-based candidates may be considered if they can consistently overlap with the European working day.
Permanent, long-term team position.
Finalists will complete a paid test assignment.
The successful candidate may begin full-time immediately or initially work two to three days per week during a fractional first quarter, converting to full-time as the media portfolio grows.

About Pink Elephant
About us
Pink Elephant builds infrastructure of products at the frontier of mental health on EU&US markets.
Mental health is a global crisis hiding in plain sight. Nearly 1 in 8 people live with a mental disorder. Depression and anxiety alone strip $1 trillion from the global economy every year. Conventional treatment leaves most patients cycling through mediocre solutions for years - undertreated, undersupported, and underinformed. Progressive therapies are showing results up to 10 times more effective than standard care. Yet fewer than 5% of people can access them.
We're here to close that gap.
Our portfolio spans two fronts. The first is psychedelics - building the media, vetted practitioners directory and education for both therapists and end users. Such a synergy is designed to make evidence-based psychedelic care a real option for the millions who need it, not just those lucky enough to know the right person. The second part is everyday mental healthcare - mental health diagnostics, antidepressant journeys, the unmet clinical touchpoints, the patients who leave a 20-minute appointment with a prescription and no roadmap.
States of Mind is a media platform exploring psychedelics, mental health, personal transformation, and human flourishing. We are building a media-first, video-first ecosystem designed to educate, inspire, and connect a global audience through podcasts, editorial content, social media, community programming, and expert-led conversations.
We are looking for an experienced Media & Communications Manager to help drive content distribution, audience growth, and brand consistency across all channels.
