Community & Connection Events Lead

The Psychedelic Society is looking for charismatic, organised and creative Community & Connection Events Leads to plan, promote and host community events across the UK.

This is an opportunity to build meaningful, in-person community spaces centred around psychedelic culture, altered states, nature connection and personal growth.

Events may include:

• Psychedelic speed-friending

• Psychedelic storytelling and sharing circles

• Nature-based community walks and meetups

You will promote and deliver regular community events in your area, with structure and support from The Psychedelic Society team.

There is potential for the role to develop into an Events Producer position, offering greater creative freedom to design, curate and organise events with commission-based pay.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate in-person community events in your area

• Reach new and currently untapped audiences within your region

• Promote events through social media and relevant local networks

• Tailor event marketing to specific audiences and topics

• Host events in a sensitive, inclusive and trauma-informed way

• Follow The Psychedelic Society’s facilitator code of conduct when facilitating

• Represent The Psychedelic Society at community events in your region

• Respond to attendee emails and direct messages

• Coordinate logistics with venues, facilitators and co-hosts

• Collaborate with the wider team to bring events to life

This is a freelance position requiring approximately 8–12 hours per month. The successful applicant will deliver one to two events per month, depending on attendance and demand. Continuation of the events will be reviewed during the first three months.

Essential

• Strong community connections and knowledge of consciously and curiously oriented communities within your local area

• A warm, welcoming and confident approach to hosting groups of approximately 10–50 people

• Confidence holding space in sensitive environments, including sharing circles

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Confidence using social media, with a creative flair for visual storytelling

• Experience or confidence in event promotion and community outreach

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends

• Values aligned with the mission of The Psychedelic Society

• Comfortable working independently on a freelance basis

Desirable

• Experience producing or supporting community events

• Experience creating content using Canva or similar tools

• Existing connections within local psychedelic-informed networks

• Existing networks within wellness or spiritual communities

• Confidence with photography or capturing content at events

• Experience using event platforms such as Eventbrite, Humanitix or Dandelion
